(Clifton, N.J. – June 23, 2023) – Passaic Valley Water Commission’s (PVWC) Executive Director, Jim Mueller, has been holding quarterly meetings with elected officials in the municipalities served by the water utility for about a year. Beginning next week, PVWC will hold its first round of town hall meetings for the customers of the communities it serves, beginning with Clifton and Paterson.
“Communication is a two-way street,” said Mr. Mueller. “We are striving to bring our customers high quality drinking water as utility industry leaders and be a responsive public steward of health and safety, community well-being and economic growth. But we cannot do that successfully without input from our customers,” he continued. “This open dialog that I am establishing, whether we get good news or bad news, will help us to improve our communications and interaction with our customers and in some cases, it may help us to improve some of our processes.”
PVWC senior staff members will also be present at these town hall meetings so that if customers have questions, they can get answers from the people who run the various departments at PVWC.
The format will be set up so that customers can go from station to station depending on the subject they are interested in learning more about. There will be a station about the leadership of PVWC and the company’s core values, one for engineering and water improvement projects including the lead service line replacement project, one for hydrant maintenance, including flushing, one for reservoirs and water quality and one for customer service.
The Town Hall Meetings will start at 6:00 PM and will end at 7:30 PM. The first Town Hall will be Tuesday, June 27, 2023, at Clifton City Hall, 900 Clifton Avenue, Clifton, NJ and the second one will be Wednesday, June 28, 2023, at Calvary Baptist Church at 575 E. 18th Street, Paterson, NJ. Town Halls for Lodi, North Arlington, Passaic, and Prospect Park are in the process of being scheduled this summer.
