METER INFORMATION
Water meters, owned and maintained by Passaic Valley Water Commission are read quarterly and monthly. The property owner owns the service line, from the curb line to the point of use. Bills for water service are issued a few days after the meter is read. Bills are due upon receipt and become delinquent if not paid within 30 days.
SERVICE FEES
DELINQUENCY TURN ON CHARGE: All accounts that are shut off for non-payment are assessed a Turn on Charge. See Rate Schedule for current pricing.
DELINQUENCY SHUT-OFFS:
All bills are due and payable upon receipt. Failure to receive a bill does not relieve a customer of liability for payment.
When your current bill is not paid within 30 days from the billing date printed on your bill, your account is subject to a 1% late charge every 30 days until any open balance is paid in full. If your bill is not paid within 60 days of the original bill date, services will be processed for disconnection and a final late notice fee (see Rate Schedule for current pricing) will be applied to your account. Your service is subject to termination within 7 days of your final late notice.
When the service has been discontinued, payment in full is required to restore the water service. Once payment has been made, a turn-on order will be generated and a reconnection fee will be charged to the account. Water service will be restored within 24 hours.
If you have any questions regarding disconnecting your service, please call; Customer Service at 973-340-4300, Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. – 6:30 p.m.
