Passaic Valley Water Commission Reminds Customers to check pvwc.com for Annual Flushing Schedule

(Clifton, N.J. – June 06, 2023) – Is Passaic Valley Water Commission (PVWC) flushing in your neighborhood?

PVWC would like to send a friendly reminder to customers to visit pvwc.com to view the flushing schedule, which is updated on a weekly basis. During the flushing process, customers may experience temporary discoloration of their tap water and/or reduced water pressure. This discoloration is caused by sediment and minerals that have accumulated in the water mains over time.

Once a customer is on pvwc.com’s homepage, please click on the photo of the fire hydrant titled “PVWC Hydrant Flushing & Valve Testing Program.” The streets, dates and times in which flushing will occur, will be listed there.

“PVWC’s Communications and Distribution Departments work together to ensure the flushing information on pvwc.com is always up to date,” said Jim Mueller, Executive Director of Passaic Valley Water Commission. “Hydrant flushing is an essential part of our maintenance program, and we appreciate the cooperation and understanding of our customers during this process.”

PVWC will be flushing through November 2023.

PVWC is New Jersey’s largest public water utility, serving over 800,000 consumers in Bergen, Essex, Hudson, Morris and Passaic counties.
