(Clifton, N.J. – January 30, 2023) – Passaic Valley Water Commission (PVWC) reorganized its Board of Commissioners on Wednesday, January 25, 2023.
PVWC Executive Director Jim Mueller presented a plaque to Commissioner Rigoberto “Rigo” Sanchez of Passaic, thanking him for his “outstanding leadership and support” while he served as President of PVWC, New Jersey’s largest public water utility, in 2022. Commissioner Gerald friend of Clifton was named President for 2023.
“My vision is to complete the projects that are underway, such as the Lead pipe replacement for the residences that have lead pipes and to start construction of the water tanks to replace the reservoir in order to ensure that we continue to deliver clean water to our customers,” said Commission President Friend.
“Over the last year, I have worked with the Board of Commissioners to begin to address the challenges facing PVWC,” said Executive Director Jim Mueller. “This collaborative process has resulted in immediate actions in 2022 to address critical issues as well as identifying short-term and long-term actions as part of a 5-year strategic plan.”
