(Clifton, N.J. – August 5, 2024) – Beginning tonight around 9:00 p.m., until about midnight, Passaic Valley Water Commission (PVWC) will address discolored water by flushing hydrants in these areas:
- Valley Road near Montclair State University
- Broad Street along Route 19
- Grove Street near Route 46
During the flushing, customers may experience temporary discoloration of their tap water and/or reduced water pressure. This discoloration is caused by sediment and minerals that have accumulated in the water mains over time. Customers experiencing discoloration are encouraged to run their cold taps until the water is clear.
Reason for Flushing:
PVWC has received water quality calls from residents in the areas listed above. Therefore, the company will flush hydrants to ensure adequate water supply by removing accumulated sediment and maintaining the proper flow of water.
