Assessments/Interview

After we receive your application, we will review it to see if you meet the requirements for the position. We may call you to obtain additional information about your qualifications.

If we feel that you have potential for an opening, we will invite you to come to PVWC for an in-person interview for PVWC to get to know you. This process helps us get a better idea of your skills and ability to impact PVWC and identify applicants who will likely be successful.

After the initial interview with the Personnel and Hiring Team, we will forward your background materials to the Board of Commissioners. The appointment of all persons to Passaic Valley Water Commission will be made and approved by official action of the Commissioners. The Executive Director shall carry out all of the decisions of the Commissioners.

Background Investigation

PVWC will conduct a background investigation for employment candidates. This includes a review of employment references, college transcripts, driving record and criminal conviction records.

Pre-employment Physical and Drug Screen

We are proud to be a drug-free workplace. Prior to beginning work, you will be required to complete a pre-employment physical and drug/alcohol screen paid for by PVWC.
