Water Main Replacements

PVWC manages more than 650 miles of underground pipeline.

Laid end-to-end, our underground pipeline would stretch from Clifton to Indianapolis and beyond.

By 2030, almost 60% of these water mains, or about 390 miles, will be more than a century old and in need of repair or replacement. 

That's why PVWC is investing over $6 million to assess key factors about the pipes and design replacement water mains for the most critical areas of our system.

• 650 miles of Water Mains • 110 miles are 16-inch or greater • 46% of mains were installed between 1880 and 1940 • Mostly unlined cast iron (distribution) • Mostly steel (transmission)
